IN CHRIST I AM
IN CHRIST I AM…..
One of the consequences of being a survivor of any type of abuse in childhood is that it can interfere with your grasp on your entire identity. Adults and older children who abuse children often make children tell falsehoods to hide the evil that is going on in plain sight.
Just when you are learning who are….just when you are in the process of becoming who you are, someone brutally interrupts that very necessary process.
Along my healing journey it became comforting for me to realize that even during my identity crisis, God loved me. God knows who I am when I don’t. In fact, God knew me before I knew myself. No matter what, I am masterfully created by God. No matter what identity I wore to move through my journey, God loves me!
That was life-saving news!

IN CHRIST I AM…..
(Scriptures are taken from the New International Version)
….STRONG-Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. (Ephesians 6:10)
….VICTORIOUS-For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)
…OVERCOMING– You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
…PERSEVERING– I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)
…HEALED– “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
…NOT HELPLESS– I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
