We are more than Diamonds, Rubies, and Pearls.
We are more than Diamonds, Rubies, and Pearls. We are a creation that under goes a similar process. A combination of extreme pressure and irritant from a foreign substance.
No, diamonds don’t come from Coal.
One hundred miles deep in the Earth, a layer separating our hospitable exterior from the molten core, known as the mantle, is where diamonds were made. Temperatures boiled above 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit and pressure exceeded 725,000 pounds per square inch. Diamonds
Natural Pearls
Natural Pearls form when an irritant – usually a parasite and not the proverbial grain of sand – works its way into an oyster, mussel, or clam. As a defense mechanism, a fluid is used to coat the irritant. Layer upon layer of this coating, called ‘nacre’, is deposited until a lustrous pearl is formed. Pearls
Rubies
Rubies are only created when very specific minerals are combined together, the most necessary of which is corundum. Corundum occurs when aluminum oxide undergoes a process referred to as isomorphous, in which some of the aluminum ions are substituted with chromium. Rubies
You and Me
Like diamonds, pearls, and rubies, we experience the pressures that come through life. The pressure that comes with relationships can be annoying. And leave our hearts bitter, vengeful, and filled with anger.
Because of life’s pressures, the foundation of the family is in shambles. Men and women are striping dignity from one another. Leaving them feeling guilty, shame, and empty.
The irritant takes on the effect of drug and alcohol addiction and improper use of money. Or should I say the S word selfishness? These irritants alone are creating homes and society filled with dilemmas, and chaos.
Every irritant comes with its own set of ups and downs. Each of these substances invades our lives in one way or another. And can cause us to lose HOPE!
Position ourselves
What I want to point out is that NO MATTER WHAT, we can have HOPE when we position ourselves to embrace Isaiah 49:24-26.
Isaiah 49:24-26 (NIV) Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives be rescued from the fierce? But this is what the LORD says: “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.
I know life is hard sometimes. I know what it is like to want to quit and give up! I also know what it is to hold vengeance in my heart.
Yet, I’ve come to a place where Isaiah 49:24-25 is living evidence of what God can and will do in our brokenness. To me, It means I don’t have to play the imagination game about revenge “what can I do to hurt him or her as he or she hurt me.” I could never think of anything bad enough to do to the person that hurt me!
God can bring beauty out of ashes. You know those things that people meant for evil and God turn them out for our good.
Genesis 50:20 (WYC) Ye thought evil of me, and God turned it into good, that he should enhance me, as ye see in this present time, and that he should make safe many peoples; (Ye thought to do evil to me, but God turned it into good, and he used what you did to me to advance me, as ye see at this present time, and by doing so he hath saved many people;)
Do you see yourself in this process? Do you see HOPE to cling tight to? Remember you are more than diamonds, preals, and rubies!
