Where do You FIT in?

Do you know where you fit in the stream of life? Have you felt like you were squeezed into place? Have others told you, “girl, you OUGHT to ….?” If we listen to these people, we will be all over the map trying this, that, and the other and never feeling like we belong.

I’ve asked myself these same questions, and the answer was slow coming. Oh, I’ve done some things I felt I was good about doing and thought I did well. But something was missing. But that feeling that something isn’t right plagued me. I felt the same feeling when trying to fit into groups. You look at people and believe they really have it going on. And I want to be in that group or like that person. But in reality, I just didn’t feel like I FIT in.

When my friend, Tricia, visits me, one of the questions she asks is, “What are you writing about” my answer these days is always the same “nothing” I wasn’t motivated to write.”  I knew something was wrong; I just didn’t know what. And that is not a good feeling either!

God knew we would have these feelings, and He gave us a reminder!

Ephesians 2:10 (NASB)

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

You might ask why this verse! God created you and me in Christ for good works. For me, this was the Good News that I needed to hear. This was the motivation I needed this morning and every morning.

There are a number of things that I like to do, and one is to encourage others to step into their giftedness. But when you don’t feel encouraged, it is hard to encourage or be someone’s Fan which is what we are to be.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NASB)

Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.

I can’t say I’m back in full force, and yes, we do wander off the path. Don’t fret; God is there to help us.

I’m in a better place; hopefully, this place will grow and motivate me.

I have a purpose statement that I use to gauge what I do; It acts like a sift.

My Purpose Statement

I do not want Christ’s death to be found vain in me. Therefore, each step I take must count and be purposefully forged for someone’s growth toward God’s desire and His glory.”

If you don’t have a purpose statement developing one might help you to find your way when you feel lost. Discovering or returning to the purpose that God has created you for is essential. It will give you Peace, Joy, Energy, and so much more to give Glory to God!
