Tell them you were never really here; Is this the message you hope to leave?
“Tell them you were never really here” A strange statement I heard in a movie. A policeman covering for a private detective tells the private eye if anyone asks, tell them you were never really here. It was a strange set of events that you and I may never experience. But the statement raised the question. What would someone say about me? “She was never really here,” Or, “Darlene, Oh, she was here.” She left words of hope, encouragement, and influence to those around her.”
Leaving a legacy is much like planting seeds. I know all the seeds I’ve planted were not good. And at the time, I wasn’t thinking about a legacy or what seeds would be producing. But now, I take planting and legacy as a more profound responsibility. It is a commitment to the future generation as well as the current generation.
I want a legacy remembered for good and not for evil.
I want my heart to affect change in those around me. I want a legacy remembered for good and not for evil.
Through every word, action, and deed, I want to affect the broken-hearted, the weak, the arrogant, etc.
The word of God is His way of planting seeds and teaching about those who left a legacy for us to pattern our legacy. From the book of Genesis to Revelations, we find patterns and methodologies for planting and living out of our legacy.
The Bible talks about seeds and reaping what we sow in Galatians 6:7.
Galatians 6:7MSG Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.
True enough, we may not be alive to see the impact and know what people think about our journey here on earth. But what I want most is for God to say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.

Examples defining Legacy
Meanwhile, find definitions for painting seeds and legacy that work for you. Below are a couple of examples that were interesting.
I like the following definitions of legacy.
Your Personal Legacy is more than simply a statement of how you wish to be remembered after you pass on. It is something that enriches your life and reveals you and what your life is about to your family, friends, and your community.Lisa Haisha, Creator of Transformative Therapy, Soul Blazing, and Host of The Legacy Series, says it better.
“Remember, it’s not what we leave FOR others that matters; it’s what we leave IN them that matters most. Possessions and wealth do not make a true legacy. It is about leaving behind the essence of your Authentic Soul. That is what the world needs from you. So, serve others by leaving behind the best and most beautiful parts of you. Today, and every day, create your legacy.”
